Rare Walleye

It’s pretty rare to catch a walleye on Mukooda. I’ve fished 125+ days on the lake and only remember about 4 fish being caught. I’ve heard stories about a “last ice” spot for them but when we go in early June or early September they are hard to come by. In 2011 Mike was able to bring one in while targeting Pike with a blue husky jerk. Check it out:

Nothing fancy here. Just a twitch and pause retrieve. This one was caught just off a rock bar peninsula in about 14ft of water. Weeds were still growing so he must have come up out of the cover to hit the lure.
